What you need...
...is a garage, a stripped tiger and a truckload of parts. Well the pictures do the talking. The Opeldealer gave me some drawings were all the tiny bits and things come. My mate Ap put the doorhandles back together again because he took them apart and I can't remember how. I done the rest. Taking off the steering wheel was a bit of a handfull and it took me a while to figure out how. Before you start on this try to find someone who done it before, it will save you a lot of agony!!
Full steam ahead!
Today we've come a long way. Together with me mate Ton we done the rearlights, insidelights and panels, roof, heatshields under the car, carkit, motionsensors, bumperparts, gastank, etc. etc. Too many to mention. It's starting to look like a car now, and it feels good!
This is going nicely.
This Saturday with me best mate Jos have fitted the skirts, speakers and brakelines. Last of the old decals removed and the exhaust back on its place.
Just three starts and it runs again!
Sunday we tried to modify the doorcables for the new electrical M3 mirrors, but that proofed more difficult as the thought. To be continued.
Jos and Danny, thanx a lot!
All aside, personel!
A luxury, two man staff! Jos done the bumper and placed real racemash, RVS like Jags have.
With me dad, who's a top welder we done the rear axle for the brakedisk conversion. Also the handbrake cables were mounted.
And here are the results:.
Another piece of the puzzle.
While waiting for the rearaxle to be powdercoated, today is wingday.
Dad welded the special M10 nuts into the metal of the hatchback. Rustprevention, and ready to put it back together. Sounds easy, but to do it right, you spend a whole day...
Bust the result is brill!

Nosey tiger..
Before we put the bumper back on, I place the foglights behind bars!

Touchdown!
And on all fours. At work alone, but that was not very wise. Putting back the rear axle on your own is quite a hand full! But the result is very nice if I say so. Getting the silenceblocks in took also some improvising. Also new (Astra) rims and the latest Dunlop tyres. Rear bumper complets the picture. It's starting to look a tiger now. If only Siegfried and Roy could see MY tiger!
Hit the brakes!
Project Rebuild (Fase 1) is coming to its end. Today started on the brakes. New brakepads for the handbrake, calipers in place, handbrake connected, and new copper brakelines. Also the frontbrakes got a freshing up and my new XForce coilover set from APEX will lower the car nicely and give it the perfect cornering and handling.

Almost done...
Everything in place. Frontbrakes and new springs (again). Dad's polished the hood and I done a carefull testdrive. Very carefull, cause only the handbrake works.
Finally!
Readt, steady go!! Brakes are working and made my first test drive. Just some last tinkering, because it has to be ready for the last meeting on the circuit of Zandvoort.
After six months it's ready to rock and roll!!
The ordered spacers are not the right ones, but the guys over at Otosam help me out. 5mm spaces are all I need to get the tire away from the springs.
All's ready for the first real testdive. Damn, this suspension is stiff, but what a cornering and handling! Along with the very low chairs and the Sparco steering wheel, I've got the parfect position (to drive that is ;-) Zandvoort here we come!
The 2F2F meeting on Zandvoort was dispite the heavy rain a great succes! Many visitors, sprints and my tiger on display! I would like to thank evereyone who helped me the past 6 months for getting this tiger back on its feet. Offcourse, I'm not done, there's so much to do, but we'll have the rest of the winter for that.
Many thanx to Jos, Ton, Ap, Danny, Iwan and my dad Henk, and everyone who I am forgotten. Also many thanx to the people from Stehouwer tyres, Het Motorhuis (Opeldealer), de Groot tools, Griekspoor, Epoxy, Mathijssen, Bedo Opeldemontage, Interparts and Schurgers Design for their help and advise! And last but not least my wife Ellen for her patience. I would not have done it without you!!!
Peace and quiet.
After four months it took a litlle break. Not that nothing's happening, oh no. Preparations on the engineproject, the new hood, new decals etc. etc. We meet in the next year. Keep visiting this site and drive safe.
